Magnify Strengths

Why?

  • You've read the data on how much better people do and how engaged they are when they use their Strengths more effectively but you're not sure how to take useful steps in that direction.
  • Maybe you already know about or have used StrengthsFinder but haven't been able to make it very meaningful or actionable yet.
  • You want your Strengths efforts to have tangible, palpable impact and change the way people see themselves and others so they can work more effectively with differences.

The Strengths Strategy for Optimal Performance (SSOP) workshop will help your employees experience a way to work together from a Strengths-based vantage point.  This experience will increase productivity, trust, team and personal engagement which will also increase organizational engagement and performance.

Who?

Groups of people who work together are the best folks for this workshop, although it can be useful to others as well.  The most value is for intact teams of 12-20 people who wish to not only see each other and themselves differently but to actually experience interacting differently.

What?

  • Preparation: If the participants haven't already taken StrengthsFinder, they will generate their top 15 strengths.  That serves as input into a drill down assessment by People Acuity on not just the contributions of those strengths but their needs, triggers, overuse, and operating assumptions.  They will also take a PeopleAcuity assessment - for their own use only - of their satisfaction at work along many dimensions. There's incredible richness even in these pre-work steps.
  • Workshop: In a one day workshop, participants experience what Interdependence feels like.  They learn more about their own Strengths, Values, Primary Domain, how they show up in teams, and how they see and are seen by their fellow participants.  It's not just learning about Strengths, it's seeing them in action and experiencing what its like to value differences as positive contributions rather than friction.
  • Digestion: After the workshop, participants pursue the intentions they set for themselves, experience their colleagues differently, and have the opportunity to continue the journey through online support or efforts within the team to build on the experience.

Results

The team has not only learned new things, they've experienced the embodied experience of working together differently.  They take a more visceral understanding of how the strengths of others show up - how they contribute, what they need in order to work effectively, and how the varied strengths come together to create something more than their individual parts can do alone.  They tend to be more engaged, energized, and enthusiastic about continuing the journey as a result of the experience.
